My Uncle Russell

Loving him on paper
I haven't seen his face.
Ever since I was a baby,
He's been locked up in this place.

That place is very scary
I have to admit
I don't even like
The outside of it.
My Uncle Russell
Who has big muscles:
He'll be in that place forever.
In a secret world behind bars.
Inside it really hurts me,
That he cannot be in ours.
I wish he was here for
Holidays, birthdays, graduations too,
I imagine that he would say
Two thumbs up, good job to you!!

Fast Life

As much as I long to see your face,
You're locked away in that place.
For what you've done in your past
Sentenced to years, for living fast.
You should have known that life won't last.
I feel lost without him in my life.
I don't understand why it has to be this way.
This man was my dad and his decisions were bad
To think about it, really makes me quite sad.
My mom is only one person, who
Takes care of more than me and my two brothers.
It seems like everyone leans on her,
But to lean, she has no other.
Dad, why did you leave us in a position like this?
You left us without sending any help our way.
That you'll soon grow up, is all that I pray.

Moments and Wind

The wind is blowing in my hair
Boys riding their bikes, here and there
This is my moment, one that I've found
Writing poetry while laying around.
A moment for just me, you see.
This is my chance to write poetry.
It was the perfect timing,
For there was nothing else to do.
So I wasn't really fussing today.
Was outside in the shade,
It was sunny, I must say.
Put on Mom's sunglasses and
When the moment ended, went inside.
To relax in the house or
Find me another past time.

Builders

Sometimes I get so frustrated
How the builders kill the trees, I hate it!
Because the animals have no place to live,
These builders, I cannot forgive.
How much more destruction
Can this world take?
I think I'm getting a bellyache.
I'm tired of seeing animals die,
Please help me save their lives!
Tell these grown ups to just wise up!!
Break down the empty houses
and build them back up.
